It's All in the Listening - Audible Adventures

Like most of you I am a book-a-holic. If given the
chance I probably could sit and read all day, no
questions asked, no glares issued.

Unfortunately my reality doesn't usually co-operate.
Kids, jobs, tasks, they all eat into the time that I'd
love to set aside for my addiction.

Imagine, if you will, how thrilled I was to discover a
hands free medium that allowed me to savour a great
tale while travelling, working, dealing with the million
issues running a household brings.

This is what I want to share with you; the world of story available whenever, wherever.

Welcome to the world of Audible books. Check out our current reads.

audible

I LOVE Audible! It gives me a great way to pick up audio books at a very inexpensive price. And though I understand production costs of audio are quite a bit more than a paperback, I REALLY wish Harlequin would release at least one book from every line every month in audio.

Re: audible

I agree with you Kelley!

I learnt to love audios ...... and I'd love to be able to listen to more of the categories ..... or give us some more of the classics by Linda Howard or those yummy SEALS by Suzanne Brockmann Smile

Hey ladies, great to see

Hey ladies, great to see you.

Having fun poking around?

It's old man, it's snowing, the old man is snowing.

Hey Lorie :D ..................................

I've just discovered that lovely edit CSS option below, so now it's so much easier to read what I'm typing as I'm typing it!  LOL .......... bummer though that we have to make those changes everytime we want to post

Kelley, I have a question? ...... what is that a picture of in your signature? .... it's very dark on my end and I can't quite make it out .... though it does stand out and grab your eye Wink

well ... this all doesn't have much to do with Audibles ..... so I best get on topic!!  LOL

Lorie, I love my ipod .... I just wish I could figure out how to listen to an audio book and type up blog reviews at the same time Undecided  Wink

audio and blog reviews.

LOL, if you figure that out Katherine I'll be first in line to know.

I read threads while listening to books.

audio and reading ......

HOW??? ..... please tell me how you can listen to an audio book and read threads at the same time???? ....... I need to know this!!

don't you miss things, either in what you're reading or what you're listening to?? .......

I'm always reading and watching t.v. .... and I miss so much of the t.v. program that when the show comes around again on reruns I'm insisting to DH that we haven't seen it yet!  .... he likes to roll his eyes and then tell me to read another book!  LOL

You wouldn't believe..

...how proficient we become at multi tasking as hosties on eHarlequin...in fact you should see us during the Open House. It's not unusual to have 3 - 4 MSN windows open to chat with hosts and deal with issues, and be checking email for lost authors, leading a chat and asking deep questions, checking the boards and running a game and wrangling children and pets all at the same time!  Heck in the middle of all that I seem to remember taking a phone call from Dream in Chicago O'Hare airport!

Imagine Dee with her two twin flu babies on top of the whole thing too!

ROFL!!

ROFL!!  Jayne!   ...... and I can see you doing all that too!  LOL

I do know how to multi-task ... (tell me a woman who doesn't ;)  )   ..... and it's amazing how much of a conversation I can eavesdrop on, er, accidentally pick up on while I'm typing away at the office ... but somehow listening to an Audible and typing defeats me, I tend to have to rewind on the Audible to get what I missed

I suppose practice makes perfect, :)    .... I'm just not practicing enough! LOL

Sure did! Granted I'm now just seeing a lot of the posts people wrote right before i went on vacation but I'm SOO excited about these new boards. Laughing

Thanks Katherine. Sorry I'm just answering. i just saw the posts today when the new forums offically opened! The picture in my signature block is one of the "signature" graphics for my book review website CK2S Kwips and kritiques (who Debiw and now crystalrclass also belong to). It's a pair of Irish step dancing shoes on a green background with my name splashed across it. And I forget so have to double check, but I do believe i set it up so if you click on it, it takes you to the home page of the website. Cool

Hi Kelley

Thanks Kelley ....... I can see the image better now in your signature ... Irish step dancing shoes? .. so does this mean you're a master of "the dance"?  ... cool Smile

dance master Kelley

>so does this mean you're a master of "the dance"?  ... cool

LOL Don't I wish? No I've never danced a single step of Irish dancing. Our website has a Celtic/Irish theme since we opened on St. Pat's in 2006. So the shoes fall into that theme.
