Byte Sized Books - Harlequin Mini's and Bundles

eHarlequin.com has a number of Exclusive eBooks just
  waiting to be read.

Beginning with the Harlequin Mini Round Robin, a
collection of short stories from published and aspiring
  authors.

Then we have the Harlequin Mini's Exclusive, original short stories by Harlequin authors.

Last, but definitely not least, and my personal favourite of the bunch; Harlequin eBook Bundles.  Multiple eBooks for one low price and one easy download.

Question on format

Lori I have a question--I bought several ebooks not to mention downloaded several of the free editions offered during the holidays all in Adobe format. I have since just ordered a Kindle. (Tired of reading things on my computer Cool ) Now I haven't had any issues converting most of my pdf doc's to the Mobi reader... have done that already EXCEPT for the purchases I made from Harlequin. Cry I have even downloaded the Mobi convertor thinking that would help. But they are not importing/converting. *sigh* I'm assuming they must have some sort of block on them.

Would you have any idea if I'm stuck reading these on the computer or if there is a way to convert them that I'm not familiar with yet? I am new to all this ebook technology.

Thanks!

Cole

converting pdf.

Hey Nicole, first, good to see you and I'm going to start a game Monday for the Rendezvous copies. I'd hope to start today, but I'm a teeny bit behind my personal schedule for it due to an appalling lack of grace and weak wrists...Embarassed

You know, and I hate to admit a lack of experience here, but to be perfectly honest, I've never converted pdf files because I rarely, if ever, use them.

However, Becca left coversion instructions on an earlier version of this thread, they're below, hopefully they'll help.

On your desktop mobi reader there is an import function. Mine is top left. It will browse pdf files in your folders.

1 ) Import your pdf file, mobi will convert it automatically.
2) When it is done, go to your book shelf feature and right click on the book you just added.

3) Click 'open containing folder' and you can find the mobi pocket file for that book, which you can then move to a different file or drag to your pda install application.

If this doesn't help, you can contact customer service and ask if they have advice. Let me know if you need their address.

It might be the protections at fault. I do know that we seem to be a little more stringent with our protections than many publishing companies, due to our desire to preserve our authors royalties as much as possible.

sigh, thanks

Thank you Lori for looking into this... I've done all of the above and the Harlequin books do not allow for converting.  On one hand I'm happy Harlequin values their authors enough to add such great protection!  Its something great to be said about the cooperation.  But I guess I'm going to have to get a hold of customer services if I want to read the Harlequin books already bought in Adobe on the Kindle.  I will be happy when Kindle gets the Adobe feature resolved... of all the features I want to work on it that is still in bugvill land, that has got to be the most important to me.  So much of our things today are in adobe... you'd think that'd be one of the first programs they'd have ensured worked properly before putting it on the market... but that having been said, you'd think people like me would then be smart enough to NOT buy it until the bugs were worked out.  Cool  Too impatient I guess.Cool

Kindle

LOL. I'm the same way. I haven't bought a Kindle yet, mostly because I've already got my axim, and I just replaced my laptop... If I spend any more money on gadgets this year the dh might have himself a fit. lol
