The Surgeon's Runaway Bride by Olivia Gates

book coverThe Surgeon's Runaway Bride by Olivia Gates, Mills and Boon Medical, #1442, October 2007

Back Blurb

Walking away from her husband, surgeon Roque Aguiar Da Costa, was the hardest thing Jewel Johanssen had ever done. After the loss of their baby and her subsequent infertility, Jewel was too hurt to see the truth——that Roque loved her above everything.

Now Roque has tracked her to the Amazon rainforest, claiming that he's her boss and she's still his wife.
Roque's seduction is a taste of heaven that slowly breaks Jewel's barriers down, allowing her to understand that the only thing she needs in order to heal is what she ran from in the first place——his love!

I loved this story. Olivia kept us on our toes til the end. She made us feel the pain these two were going through. Even though Rogue still wanted Jewel, he backed off and let the decision be hers, which I really liked. This story also didn't have a instant HEA for them. Looking forward to reading more from Olivia.

Shh.. I'm quietly reading

in my TBR

Excited to see this one blogged.  It's in my TBR...actually on my bedside table (my TBR short list).  I like the cover of this one.  I love this line.  I rad an Amy Andrews one that had an HEA that was not an easy HEA and loved it.  You've made me even more excited about the Olivia Gates Medical!

Have this

I first read her Bombshells and loved them. Penn set up a dinner when she was here last summer for RWA. It was great meeting her, she has so much personality. She gave me three of her Medicals and I ordered this one. I'm reading them in order and have one left and this one to read. These have been good but I loved her Bombshells and wish she could write some more of those or even write for SRS. I'll buy whatever I can of hers though. Glad you enjoyed it and looking forward to getting to mine. Thanks for the review.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the lovely review. SO happy you enjoyed The Surgeon's Runaway Bride. I have a soft spot for Roque, being a hero who had every reason to be tortured, but who triumphed over his past to become such a stable and giving man.

I hope you enjoy the book when it's turn comes on your reading list. This was sort of a transition book for me. Looking forward to your opinion.

I LOVED meeting you and the other ladies (and gentleman) It was really one of brightest highlights of my trip to the US and something I'm so thankful to Penn for arranging. (among all the rest of the amazing things she did for me!!)

I am glad you enjoyed my books, and I too wish I could write more Bombshell-like books. Hopefully one day! Meanwhile I hope you'll enjoy my coming books, even though the intensity is purely emotional.

And you just made my day saying that you'd buy anything of mine!! SmileLaughingKiss
