A year ago, Louisa Bryce was making a quiet living for herself by running a bookshop after her father passed away until something happens one night that forces her to have to disappear. But Louisa doesn't go far and she begins to investigate some shady dealings by a Elwin Hastings.
She is not the only one who wants some answers from Hastings. Anthony Stalbridge also has his eye on him. Anthony is curious about Louisa. She is too interested in Hastings and Anthony wants to know why. They soon join forces to get answeres to each of their questions. But Anthony finds that Louisa is a mystery to him too and he wants to figure her out.
I always enjoy Jayne Ann Krentz and it does not matter if she writes under the name Amanda Quick or Jayne Castle. She is an auto buy for me.

The River Knows...
I'm with you Margie! Jayne can write anything, under any name and it's a winner IMO. Of course some are better than others, but even the ones that are so-so work for me.
So nice to have someone else that likes JAK as much as I do!

Did you see she has a new
Did you see she has a new contemporary coming out at the end of the month - Sizzle and Burn, I am on the list at the library for it already.

Sizzle and Burn...
Cady, yep I just got the notice the other day! And that's a great idea... putting a hold on it at the library now... Thank you!
*toodling off to the library web-site...*

Our library puts them into
Our library puts them into the system at wierd times, so I always have to keep an eye out for the major books - JAK, Nora, Linda Howard, etc. If I wait until it comes out, I could be 100 on the list - Ugh. Hope you get an earlier number.
Cady
Looonnnggg waiting list at the library....
I'm at 117!! And the book's not even out yet. *sigh* Ah well, better late than never... and at least I'll be able to read it before having to wait another year before the PB comes out.

It is amazing how fast
It is amazing how fast those lists fill up, it is always annoying to me, when I remember later to try and request. Hopefully, your library will get a lot of copies, so it won't take too long.
Cady
Well, in the whole city
...there should be a few copies... my fingers'll be crossed anyway... but in the meantime, there's this rather extensive TBR hanging over my shoulder.

Hi Ladies
Hi everyone,
I too love the way this author writes as Jak and Jayne Castle...i'm not as familiar with her writing as Amanda Quick yet.., though i always planned to read more of hers, it hasn't happened yet....so many books...
Kathy D
Hey Kathy,
Nice to see you here. I enjoy her historicals. They are pretty similar to her other books just set in a different time. Maybe this year you will get to try one.
Margie :)
Hi Margie, I have several
Hi Margie, I have several of her historicals as Amanda Quick...which ones would you recommend as your favorites, and hopefully i will have at least one of them.
I just checked my book program and i've read Mystique and Deception...that's one more than i'd thought i'd read. And i gave them both a rating of good.
I also came here to let you know i left you a message at my Anne Gracie blog...but i was worried you wouldn't find your way back in time...and wanted you to get this message soon, so you can start using these features and enjoy this blogging experience more....So i'm copying it here for you:
Hi Margie,

You can be confident your not alone.
I've learned that favorites is for copying everywhere you've been and left messages etc., so you can remember where to go back to.
At almost the top of this page, where it says "add a comment" (or something similar)...right beside it is "add to favorites" ...whenever you want to remember where you've been, go to the top of any page and click on add to favorites, then whenever you want to check it...On the right hand side, at the top, under your name...is "my favorites...if you go in there...everything you have saved will be there. I'm thinking eventually this list is going to be veeery long. lol
I like the one "recent posts"...i've found lots of new and interesting blogs in there today.
I'm going into My Profile page right now to look...i forget what's all in there...i'll be right back.
Ok, now i remember "friends recent activity".. I haven't had much luck with it myself, so i've been avoiding it.
Also: I just figured out how to tell when i have new messages. Yipee...if you save everything to favorites...it tells you when anything is new. If you haven't learned those yet...they should help you quite a bit and makes things a fair bit easier for you...

Thank you! :)
Thank you! :)
Kathy - A good one is
Kathy - A good one is Mistress by AQ.
Margie - Glad things are going smoother.

Mistress
Kathy,
I agree with Cady. It has been a long, long time since I read Mistress but I remember really enjoying it. I will need to re-read some of these again.
Margie :)
Hi Cady & Margie,
Thanx for the recommend from you both. Now that you've mentioned Mistress...i recognise it as a book i've heard praised before, i'm sure by one or both of you, over in the WAYRN thread.... and i'd looked for, but hadn't found it...but i do have a few copies of "Mischief", which i've grabbed before...completely forgetting that the title was Mistress i was looking for, and that i already had copies of Mischief... Yup, it "does" get confusing sometimes. lol
I wrote Mistress down so hopefully the right title stays in my memory this time...i really don't need anymore copies of Mischief....and i already have a copy of Mystique. lol So many "M" titles.
Kathy D
LOL Kathy...
"...i really don't need anymore copies of Mischief....and i already have a copy of Mystique. "
Hoo boy Kathy... when I was doing my backlist search for Jayne Ann Krentz's books I ended up with any number of duplicates... and when you consider that she wrote under 7 different names, it was sometimes *very* difficult keeping them all straight. Thank heavens that the UBS's all needed any of the JAK (et al) books that I had extras of... I don't know how many times I traded some of them.
KaLyKo ~ I'm a readaholic and Proud of it!!
Lol Kathy! It does
Lol Kathy! It does sometimes cause duplicate buying(and groaning, when i realize i bought the wrong one, again) when titles i am looking for are so close in name and i have sooo many of their books, it's to hard to remember them all.
I recently discovered a secondhand book store in the city, that does trades...so i'm looking forward to trading in a bunch of my doubles...hopefully the owner is just as excited to recieve them!.
Kathy D
Kathy - There for a while,
Kathy - There for a while, she was writing books starting wth the same letter, Seduction, Scandal and Surrender; Mischief, Mystique and Mistress; Rendevous, Ravished and one other, you get the picture, thus it would be easy to mix up what you have and what you want.
Cady
That's exactly it Cady!
That's exactly it Cady! That can make it very confusing.
I started bringing a list all written out of those authors i was collecting and which i had lots of their books...that helped bunches once i started that.
