On the forum ~ Reading Challenge: What's on Your List? ~ started by Ellen Hartman, J. R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood books were mentioned.
A short while later, ElleJay made the comment that, during the 2007 Challenge, a number of us ~ BIG fans of the Brotherhood ~ came up with a couple of acronyms with which to label our group. The first was SOTB, or Sisters of the Brotherhood; then ElleJay came up with LATB, Lusting After the Brothers.
We had a lot of fun and a plentitude of posts and then we compiled a varitey of information, blogs / reviews and the like. With discussion arising about Ward's BDB series ~ and the June release of the sixth book in the series ~ Lover Unshrined ~ I thought that maybe we could once again have our "Clubhouse" open.
So I took the information from last year, made a couple of changes and then put it up on my website. For anyone interested, the SOTB now has a homepage... well, a page anyways. It can be found here.
So if you're of a mind, check it out... I'm not 100% finished cleaning it up, but I will get back to it ~ later when I've got some real free time.

Sadhbh had a great idea... and now that I see it I do remember it circulating last year for a bit... it's the acronym SLATB ~ which combines both of the others... we are the "Sisters Lusting After the Brothers!!"

But I have heard one or two other people remark, very negatively, on the Brothers' names... what that Hey?

Who Cares About Names
They could be any name and I'd still go for the brothers. But could you imagine one named Fred, Chuck, Henry okay I must be tired just being silly.

Sticking my head in the sand
I am not even going to read the review. Instead I am opting for the sticking my head in the sand scenario. Or better yet, covering my ears with my hands and saying "nah nah nah nah nah". I don't think I can stand to hear something bad uttered about the Brothers. I love 'em all!

Personally I found that review horrible. That person made zero sense! I went as far as reading the comments and the people went on a trashing spree. What do they know about good writing! Oh well.
And I find the names awesome lol names like Fred or George just wouldn't fit

I think they're just fine the way they are and once you get to know them they just couldn't be anyone else.

I mean the name describes the reviewer to perfection. Not like Dark Lover? - come on! She must have been smokin' something or just plain asleep. Just thinking about anything negative said about Wrath gets my blood pumping. Well.... ahem... actually any thoughts about Wrath gets my blood pumping

Deb you're so right... the names are ... perfect! JR was inspired and is a genius... but then none of us are biased or anything.

Margie, the brothers are the BEST! There are some out there that are close to our BDB, but the Brothers will always rule.
So anyone... is there anything else that you can think of for me to add? I wasn't sure about putting all our *names* up... I still have the basic information that I took from the old site ~ and if you want I can easily just add our ID's back onto the page... or something.
And really, if there's anything that ANYONE would like to see, just let me know... it still belongs to all of us!

We don't need our names up we all know who was on the list but we will welcome any new admirers to our group. No dissing our guys though. You need to be a fan.
It doesn't bug me if someone doesn't like the BDB
it's their loss - there's just no accounting for taste (poor eejits)
Obviously JR Ward is right to keep on writing, because there are A LOT of SLATBs out there
and if I can reread the books hundreds of times in a year and still find enjoyment, she's gotta be doing something right

If someone didn't like it based on personal opinion and really had a good reason why they didn't like it, the whole thing wouldn't be so bad. Those people it seemed trashed it just to do it. And yeah it would be quite entertaining if someone like that dared to come around here lol.

Having BDB withdrawal
I sent my BDB books to my DD in CA so she could read them. She just moved to a new apartment yesterday - threatened her with dire consequences if she damaged or lost my books. She called me today and said "are these books about vampires?" and I told her to just read them, that she was going to love them. She better hurry up and read them so she can send them back to me so that I can reread them again before Phury's book comes out. Starting to have withdrawal symptoms.
I don't think I'm going to visit the negative site as it will just pi** me off.

We don't need to be bothered with that. Obviously, they just don't a good story with hot guys when they read one. Can just image what their relationships are like
How soon will it be June? Seems like a ton of books I want to read all come out then. Of course, this one will be first. Especially since I have 3 that will want to read it too. None of them are book-keepers, so we take turns buying, but I always get to keep them. Great deal, huh? I also have my bf's mom reading them now, so I'm betting she'll want to borrow it too. Her dd is in VA now, so I can't loan them to her, but I'm trying to talk her into picking them up. I know these are right up her alley.
I never watched Newhart, but George Foreman has 6 kids (I think) and they are all named George (incl. his dd - its Georgia or Georgina or something of the female version). I always thought that was too funny. Talk about never forgetting or mixing up their names. I always wondered if he numbered them. You know - #3 come here! #5 the phones for you!

LOL Alias...Fun post you wrote! I enjoyed reading it and got several chuckles. I don't recall a show with 6 children with the same names..it would definately get confusing for sure...My dh's in the shower, and since he's always been a tv finatic, and is working on the square butt to prove it...i'll ask him if he recalls that show.

them diss them to their face, I mean we're talking six slabs of
hunkhood here, with not a one of them under six foot six

though) so I know how BIG that is, and although size itself doesn't
intimidate me, I don't know if I'd dare diss six BIG men very
proficient in fighting

Sadly, I'm having BDB withdrawals too - I lent them to my friend, along with a couple other series, but she still hasn't returned them.
It's been three months. She's already finished with them all.

SLATB..."Sisters Lusting After the Brothers!!" I absolutely love it!!
I have to say I cannot wait for June to come. Phury's story is going to be brilliant I'm sure! Girls I've got a new Lover Enshrined decounter on my profile page. It is taking forever to count down though...
But there is some good news. I do believe it is October that the compendium is coming out...at least that is only about a 3 month wait.

I never went to that site to read the unkind words of the brothers...I'm not really interested in that kind of opinion. I know there are people out there that do not like vampire stories and they are entitled to there opinion. But personally I don't understand how anyone can't fall for and love those big sexy brothers!!

I tried, tried tried reading the start of Dark Lover last year, looking forward to it after everyone`s favourable blog posts...but alas, I had the exact same problems with it the reviewer at Smart Bitches, Trashy Books did. Her review had me nodding along...so yeah, that`s why I never bought this one.

... I'd have a terrible time lending my BDB books out. They're on the shelves right beside me as I type; and I can definitely see a re-read before Phury's story comes out.

Wow! Sounds like you have a great deal with being able to keep the books... I don't have anybody like that.
Fortunately, I do have a lot of books that I can trade in... and I'm dying for June to get here ~ not that I'm wishing the year away at all... really, I'm not!
