14. Nora Roberts ~ Night Shift {Night Tales Vol I}
I finally, finally read Nora Roberts during last year’s challenge when Tammys sent me the three books from the Three Sisters Island trilogy. I’m not sure why I never read her before, probably a combination of things… such as I have this obsession to get ALL the books from an author that really, really hits the spot, and I'm kinda loath to go out and search for more ways to spend money and use up all my available space on my bookshelves.
Well, I can’t say that I’ve added NR to that list yet, but I did get another set of three books called Night Tales. Each volume has two separate stories, all dealing with Night ~ obviously (did I mention that I often state the obvious… it’s considered a severe character flaw by my children *grin*). And I just started reading them… so far, VERY good!
BOOK READ:
Nora Roberts; Night Shift; Silhouette Special Release; 2005 (originally released 1990)
SYNOPSIS:
Cilla (no one calls her Priscilla more than once) O’Roarke is a very popular nighttime D.J. now working for a radio station in Denver. But not all her listeners are fans, and one of them has taken to calling her telling her that he will deliver justice for a wrong she committed.
Boyd Fletcher is a police detective and he and his partner Thea Grayson have been assigned to protect Cilla now that her caller’s threats are escalating. Having long been attracted to the ‘voice’ that is Cilla’s radio personality, meeting her in person has Boyd tied up in knots.
The attraction that Cilla feels for her Detective Fletcher are more than she wants to handle; but the calls that she’s receiving are beginning to terrify her. The only question is, who is the bigger danger to her?
MY NOTES:
Okay, this story really, really has me hooked ~ at least so far. I’m waiting to see how I feel about the rest of the stories, but if they’re all the same, I can definitely see myself doing some searching for some more of Nora Roberts’ books.
I really enjoy suspenseful thriller and if they’ve got a romance even better; this has all the right elements. I liked the relationship between Boyd and Cilla, even though she fought her attraction tooth and nail; but Boyd’s belief in them and their relationship had me rooting for him. He was fantastic! Great mystery, even though I had a pretty good idea who the caller was, but that never bothers me ~ Hey, I often read the end of the book!
RATING:
Great / Very Good ~ 3 stars {an excellent one-time read, very likely a keeper; will be sure to check out author’s other books!}
Sensual {moderately explicit sex; no forbidden words}
Books read to date: 14
Har / Sil ~ 12
Other ~ 2

Nora Roberts
Always glad to see other Nora fans! She is the best. I've a very large collection of her books early when she was writing Silhouette & most of her mainstream books. So far I haven't picked up the first in her new trilogy but I will soon. If you need any recommendations just let me know! The Night series was good, I've read it a couple of times. If you are interested I have some of her older books as extra copies. I can email you the list if you want. None of them are complete series just extra copies I ended up with from bags of books people gave me. The books would save you from tracking down some of the older ones.
Take care, happy reading,

Donna, thank you!
That would be fantastic. I do know that between her mainstream novels and her multitude of category romances, the woman is a writing machine.
I sure loved the two Night stories that I've read so far... and the Three Sisters Island trilogy was excellent as well.

Thank you Tammy
I'll do that! I'm slowly working my way through her NR books.. just have to get on the wagon with her JDR books... somewhere in amongst all the other books that I want to read next. *sigh*
