     This long, long-awaited masterpiece was worth every second of wait time.  Even for a member of the WARDen's message board ~ and having seen a lot of extremely captivating tidbits over the years ~ this book is not to be missed for any of the fans of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. 
  Talk about a down-and-dirty yet riveting look behind the scenes, this compilation of heretofore unknown facts, in-depth glimpses into what has made our much-loved Brothers who they are, and the beautiful impact their shellans have had on their lives is a fan's dream... with only one flaw ~ it ends too soon!

     At 478 pages I zipped through this book with each and every section clamouring for my attention.  And there is a fascinating look into J.R.'s writing ~ the practical and the inspiration ~ that I found very intriguing.  I've even told my daughter, who is a writer herself, that there is a wealth of information for anyone who shares the compelling need to write, write, write ~ and for a non-writer such as myself, I was drawn into this section as well as any of the others.

Cormia let out a hiss that sounded like a cobra, and before she knew what she was doing, she nailed her fangs into his jugular. As she struck, he barked out a curse and his body jumped.
Holy mother of Words . . . His blood was a fire, first in her mouth then down in her gut, an all-powerful wave that filled her out from the inside, giving her a strength she’d never known before.
“Harder,” he bit out. “Suck me. . . .”

Another Fav Scene:

“Your wish is my command, prince of mine.”
Don’t call me that.
As John headed for the exit, he texted Blay, hoping the guy would show eventually. Maybe if he was bugged enough he’d relent?
“So what should I call you?” Qhuinn said as he leaped ahead to open the door with a flourish. “Would you prefer ‘my liege’?”
Give it a rest, would you.
“How about good ol’-fashioned ‘master’?” When John just glared over his shoulder, Qhuinn shrugged. “Fine. I’ll go with fathead then. But that’s your damage, I gave you options.”

Any lover of Ward's work has to pick up this book.  Lover Enshrined brings you a Lessening Society with a new forelesser and a new weapon, making them more threatening than ever before.  This brings new tests of strength and intelligence to the Brotherhood.

    I finally, finally finished Lover Enshrined, J. R. Ward's sixth novel in her Black Dagger Brotherhood series ~ powerful, powerful story!
     And it was far more than I had hoped. I'm rather flummoxed at present and need to digest the story, and what happened and what's been set up to happen. But, OMG!!!! As usual the WARDen has done an amazing job with not only the Brothers, but also with the vampire world in general....
    Speechless!

06/08/08     (finally not speechless any longer) 
     J. R. Ward has written another blockbuster in her BDB series.  With every novel we're taken further into the lives of the vampires in Caldwell, NY as well as the lives of the Brotherhood, their shellans and those around them.  The Black Dagger Brotherhood are an extremely dynamic group who stand together; whose lives are intertwined with each other to a marked degree; who, one by one, are finding their life-mates and experiencing the healing power of love. 
     In Lover Enshrined, J. R. Ward takes us deeper into the background of the race and the creators of the vampires and the Lessers. We're also given, I think, a much better look at what may be ahead for the Brothers and those that they protect. Fabulous, fabulous story, about which I can't say enough or, if given a chance, would say far too much.  But one thing that needs to be said:

           VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
